For 5 years David and Riley were they were our only two nephews among our many nieces, and we often called them "The Boys." They were born only 3 months apart and when they were babies we used to fantasize about them being good friends one day. We didn't really see how it would be possible since they lived so far apart and our sisters didn't know each other. Still, aunties can dream right? Well sometimes, dreams come true and it still melts my heart to see these sweet boys together and growing up as cousins... in fact, Riley totally thinks they are first cousins... sooo cute!
This year the boys each turned 8 and were baptized! Even though I'm late posting about these big events in their lives, I wanted to make sure their special days made it into the blog. So here it is... better late than never:
Riley's Baptism- September 3, 2011
|
A few days before his baptism, I took Riley to temple square for a little photo shoot. He was such a good sport about it and even wore the tie without complaining even though it was in the upper 90's that day. |

Cute 8 year old toothless grin! |

I love when I capture these little moments of pure happiness on film :)! |

Riley was taught by these missionaries, |
|
and baptized by his uncle David. |

The proud Auntie! I can take credit for this right? |
|
We had a little party at the church after the baptism. I made these cupcakes. |

Our cute kids together at the party. |

David was baptized by his Dad. |

Kristin played the piano for the prelude and the songs. We arrived at the church super early so she could practice. The kids were very patient at waiting. |

More waiting |

After the baptism we went to David's grandma's house for a party. I must have been too busy having fun because I didn't take any other pictures of the kids except this one of Ben and Erica. Aren't they cute! |
A Little Stroll Down Memory Lane
David and Riley seem so grown up now, but this is what I still see in my mind sometimes when I look at them:
|
This picture was not planned. We were just going through old photos one day and found them both. How crazy that they are both wearing similar colors and standing in the exact same spot! |
Seriously! Could they be any cuter?
These are so cute! (So to answer your question, no, they can't be any cuter!) I LOVE the comparison picture at McDonalds-and to just see the pictures of them growing up together. They do seem so little in comparison to now. How fun to see your blog-thanks for sharing it with us :)
